Testing the I love Berlin eyeliner

I one of my latest posts I just talked about the amazing jar of the eyeliner. Now it is time to try it.
I will do a short review of it.

The color of this glittering black eyeliner is called, 04 Berlin Story. I actually never use brush eyeliners because I always thought it was very hard. But I must say, with a little bit of practice I get better and better when I us it.

This is on the hand. To show the color. The line on my hand is thicker than the brush gives. I made it ticker just for the photo. As you can see the glittering in the eyeliner is almost not visible. But the eyeliner has subtle silver coloured sparkles in it.

On the eye itself the eyeliner does not smudge. When practicing, I found out, the less eyeliner you put on the brush the better it goes. With more it will run trough the eyelashes because it does not dries very quick.

This is how it looks on my eyes. It does not look very neat. It is only to show how it looks.

Because of this eyeliner was one from a limited edition line, you probably will not find it anymore. BUT Essence just brought out a new line of eyeliners named glam liner. this glam liners also have the little sparkles that the I love Berlin eyeliner has.

You can find them here Essence Glam liner

Faking it!

I've always got long hair. I was wondering how short hair would look like on me. So I made a faux bob. The result:

So tell me, what do you think?

A bit of orange for queensday

Every year on the 30th of April we celebrate the birthday of the Dutch queen. Since orange is the color of Holland and our Royal family, I decided to go for some orange color on my nails.

This one is from HEMA. It is a pearly orange with tiny sparkles. I think it is a nice orange color that is also wearable on other days then queensday or the football worldcup :)

Eyeliner with a mark of history

When I was in the local drugstore lately, I found something amazing. Well in my eyes it is. But that can also be a part of my interest in history.

I thought I just bought an black glittering eyeliner. It is form the limited collection of make up brand essence, named: I love Berlin. Actually I already loved it already because of its name.

What Essence printed on the little jar, is probably something not many people will notice, I think. There's a band printed on the jar with little man. At this point you maybe think, why?

Take a look at the photo, maybe you will find out what's so special about the walking men.

Time for a bit of history about that little walking men. The little walking men with hats are Ampelmännchen. Say what?
Indeed, Ampelmännchen. They where representing the go an no go signs on the East German(DDR) traffic lights at crosswalks.

Even in the year 2011, if you are somewhere in the East part of Germany(DDR) or even better, In Berlin. You can still see by the kind of traffic lights at crosswalks in witch part you are, East or West. Unfortunately, they are not the original ones. They where removed after the unification of Germany. In 2007 they where placed back in Berlin as a part of the Ostalgie.

I think it's great that a make up brand printed this little details on the eyeliner jar.

Little groceries

Yesterday when walking in the supermarket, I found this lovely little shopping bag. With little, I mean really little. Like in it fits two cans of beer. But I love it so much that I could not resist it, so I had to buy it. It has such a lovely design with old advertisements on it. For the picture I decided tot place the bag next a coffee-cup to show the size of bag :D
