Christmas 2012

This  Christmas did not really got any Christmas weather it's more like autumn. But hey you have to make the fun yourself.  On Christmas eve, I've made a Christmas diner for one:

On the second day of Christmas, my sister and nephew came over to  celebrate Christmas. We ate gourmet. That's what is  a big tradition in Holland because almost every family has  a gourmet or fondue at christmas.

Merry Christmas

It's a piece of ice

So clear and quite thick and probably the last piece of ice in 2012(at last in the Netherlands). That's because  the temperatures are above zero again at day and night time. And the weatherman said it's not going to freeze again this year.

This weather deserves a pie

Outside it is rainy, dark, cold, and also hail showers. Perfect weather o make a pie for dinner. Today I made this very Delicious cottage pie. The recipe of this pie is available  here: cottage pie. Already the second meal post of this weekend. That's because I miss cooking a lot since I am busy now with my Internship.  So the  two days I do have time to  cook, I do cook. I think autumn is one of the nicest moments to cook food. Wonderful pies that are rich in flavor  ingredients smell, wonderful  and keep you warm when cold with this type of weather.

Tonight i've made a very tasteful chickendish. I'found it on a Swedish website and you can find it here: Chicken with mustard sauce, tomatoes and basil. I did not used  fresh tomatoes but sundried tomatoes, which went very well with the rest of the dish.

The Halloween dress

Well and here is the result of my trash bag Halloween dress and the braided belt. The dress was quite easy to make. Just tape some bags(16) together to make the skirt. For the top you can take one which you cut open and shape when you putted it on as a top you can model it to make a nice shirt shape  The straps are braided from 3 bags each. The belt was a lot of work because trying to make small folded strokes is a lot of work with duct tape  because as you can already guess, it's quite sticky.One  disadvantagege of this dress was that it makes you look fat. But the result of the dresswas very great I must say. I also made a duct tape bow to  put in my hair.

Sandpit Amsterdam central station

For  years now they are working on the renovation of the central station in Amsterdam.  The station square is now ready since half a year i think, the main hall has as far as my memory goes back a rubber-tiling floor because of all the renovation work. I no idea how the real floor looks. So that must be there for years now.

Now they are for quite a while busy creating a new passenger tunnel. That means this tunnel runs under the train platforms. Because of that, they also have removed some of the railroadtracks, and what you see when standing on the platform now is this:

what i really do like, is that you can see the layers of brick where the stations fundamentals are build from

Me on stage

It still feels like yesterday that I was standing on the stage of  De kleine komedie, which is a theater in Amsterdam.  In there was a public script reading of one of my favorite TV series: A'dam and E.V.A. Next January 2013 they will start with the recording of the second season.

Because there are more characters needed then the four permanent members, the audience  was invited to read the script with the actors on stage. At the started of the evening there was a flashback to the first season and interviews with the four cast member  the writer an the producer. after that the scripts where divided to the people that wanted to participate on stage. So I raised my hand.
I had tot do the first scene. There I was standing on the stage saying the first text of the second season. I had to play the role of course leader of the Lamaze class.(that's because Eva got pregnant in the first series.) I really Enjoyed it to be on stage performing.

Halloween costume

Already i talked about duct-tape and bin bags for my halloween outfit. I deceided to make a drawing. At the moment I ;ve made already some of the parts of the dress, the braided duct-tape part in the middle of the dress and the shoulderstraps. To show what the dress is going to look like, here's a drawing i made of the going to be dress.  

the skirt and top part will be of  bin bags and also the straps and the little bag in my hand,. The middle section will be made  of duct-tape that i braided into a wicker. Maybe i will also make a hat or bow to put on my head.

Things to do when having the flu

I must say I'm getting quite bored with having sinusitis for the second day. I can not do anything so while lying in bed and watching some movies, I watched a great one I must say. It was On the road. I also finally came up with a great idea for my Halloween costume. I really want to tell  but on the other side, i also don't because then the whole surprise is gone. All i can say, that's  it includes duct tape  bags maybe some staples and some sparkles for decoration.

The Born This way Ball Amsterdam

Since i was kind of busy in the past weeks,  i finally found a moment now to write about the lady Gaga concert in Amsterdam.  Almost  all I can say It was really great/amazing/cool/wonderful/ and more words in that category to describe the Lady Gaga concert Tuesday September 18 2012 in the ziggodome in Amsterdam. I was so happy I could finally go to a Lady Gaga show. The show is more like  whole theater play than just a singer on stage. She really acts with her audience. I was happy that there where big video screens since  it was so crowded  I could not see much of the  things that happened on the stage. But I enjoyed it so much. here are some pictures of the concert.
