Essence Update: Ready for boarding limited edition nail polish review

When visiting the Drugstore yesterday, I also found  one other nail polish of the ready for boarding collection, 05 Destination Sunshine. Like the name almost already says, indeed it's a yellow one.

I needed two layers of the polish. Do not be to spare while putting a layer on your nail. You will get strokes in the polish. That looks ugly and you have to redo the nail.
I do like the  soft yellow color. Really a summer color.
Go to your drugstore where they sell Essence to get this lovely limited edition nail polish which will cost you 1,49 euro.

Essence Ready for boarding limited edition nail polish review

Essence has a new limited edition line, named: Ready for boarding. It contains: eye pencils, nail polish, eye shadow pallet, lip & cheek creme, a luggage label, hand & body wipes and a make up bag. Actually all you need when you go on holiday.

I did not buy the whole collection. I skipped the eye pencils because eye never use them. I also did not buy the luggage label.

From the nailpolishes I bought two bottles, the rest of them was already sold out. I've got 02 beauty on tour, which is a pink coral. The other one is 04 via airmail! a blue nailpolish. I also bought the peel off base coat 01 carry me home.

This is the base coat. It's created to peel it off, so you do not need any nail polishes remover to get your nail polish of your nails anymore. When I opened the bottle, saw the texture ans smelled it, it reminded me of the  glue we used at school when i was young. Maybe it is something like that, because you have to let it dry for ten minutes after you have put it on your nails.

The base coat getting dry.

The bottle. And as you can see on my nails. When the base coat is dry, it gets translucent

The coral one: 02 beauty on tour

The blue on: 04 via airmail!

Peeling of your nail polish while wearing the base coat, you can just peel it off. If it will not come off your fingers in once, just scratch with another nail on it.
Also, If this base coat is not available anymore, Essence included it in their new collection which will be available in September 2012.

Nailpolishes are 1,49euro each
Peel off base coat: 1,79 euro

Essence Fruity Blush sorbet review

Last, but absolutely not least, the Blush sorbet from the Essence Fruity collection. I never used blush because i  did not know how to use it well. after some tutorials  i do know now. I usualy use my pink blush from MNY.  When i saw the blush sorbet in the store, i liked the color with the golden shimmer in it and it has a nice scent. It has a mousse structure and you need a really tiny bit for your cheeks because it smears well. The name of the blush sorbet is: 01 Smoothie operator.
jar close up

here you can see the shimmer
When putting it on your skin just smear it over your cheecks with your fingers. That works the best for substances like these. It dries quite quickly You will get a healty light pink glow on your cheeks. I like it on my face. It is not to dark or to much when you use a little bit. Perfect for a nice summer day or evening  for the ultimate summer feeling. because it looks and smells like summer in a jar.

You can buy this one at  your local drugstore where they sell  essence. It's not very expensive: 3,29 euro. Be  quick, limited editons from Eccense are not there for a long time.

Here are some pictures from my  cheecks:

on the hand. As you can see you do not need much of it

smeart out a bit

Essence Fruity Nailpolish collection review

The Fruity Collection from Essence  contains  five colors of nailpolish, a fruity topcoat, a sealing topcoat and fruity figures to  put on your nails.  The only thing   for the  nails that i did not buy where those figures because they where sold out.

From the 5 colors of nailpolish, 3 are with sparkles. The other two are shiny pastels. In the picture you can see them with the names.

If you out on 2 layers, it gives a semi transparant color. I like that, because it looks  like sumemr should do: light, and sunny. When you put on 3 layers It gives a high opaque and matches the color in the  bottle. To give you the idea about the 2 and 3 layer difference, i've made some photo's with 2 and 3 layers.

05 mashed berries

04 one kiwi a day…(two layers)

04 one kiwi a day…(3 layers)

02 peach beauty

01 banana joe

03 very cherry

Then there are the 2 top coats. The Fruity smelling top coat  smells sweet as in tropical lemonade syrup sweet. If you do not like sweet smell that will stay for  more then one day. Do not use it. Else just enjoy the sweet smell.
The  sealing  topcoat is actually made to seal the  fruity figures on top of your nails. But you can use it also as a normal topcoat on the nailpolish, like i do.

Still available at stores where they  sell Essence. In the Netherlands  you can  buy it at Kruidvat. The nailpolishes you can buy for €1,79. the topcoats are €1,99

Essence Fruity eyeshadow sorbet review

Essence has a new limited editoin line for this spring. It's named Fruity. The whole collection exsist of 5 colors of nailpolish, a cream blush, 3 colors of eyeshadows, a sealing top coat, a scented topcoat, 2 lipbalms and little fruity figures for on you nails. The lipbalms and fruity figures are the only ones I did not buy.

In this  review I will talk about the eyeshadows. They come in a little glass jar with a pastel colored cap that represents the color in the jar. Price: € 2,79

Here you see all 3 Fruity eyeshadow sorbets

They  all have a little wet mousse structure. The green and pink are a bit more wet then the gold one.
The first one is the peach colored one. It wears the name: 01 peach beauty. It's a pink/peach with metallic shimmer. When looking at it  the metallic gives some kind of pink gold shine.

The second one has the name: 02 banana Joe. This one is my favorite(even got a compliment today about this nice color). It has a yellow/gold color. The shimmers in this one are a bit more bigger. Like mini flakes. Om the eye it gives a combination of silver with gold. That depends on the light.

Number three, the last one, is named: 03 one kiwi a day…. A very light green with a metallic shimmer in it.  That gives it a green/gold metallic shine.

What I absolutely like about this eye shadow sorbet collection is the nice sparkle they all have. Also they do dry very quickly when you put them on. So you do not have to wait to blink with your eyes or to put another layer of it on your eye. It does not smudge or run away. It stays on your eyelids all day. Even when you  touch or rub it  with your finger it will stay on.
To put in on your eyelids, just use your fingers.
For me as a wearer of contact lenses this sort of eye shadow is fantastic. No powder in my eyes. And  fab colors, like these three to wear. They really  give me that feeling that summer is on his way to grey and cold Holland.

Here are some pictures of the eye shadow sorbet on my hand. I've tried  to make them in different angles so that the effect of the metallics and shimmer will be viewable. On all the pictures, from left to right: Peach beauty, One kiwi a day..., Banana Joe

If you want to buy one or more of these amazing eyeshadow sorbet colors be quick. The Fruity collection is an Limited Edition. Find out on Essence where you can buy them.

Essence nail colour 3 review

Essence has released a new nail polish collection. The collection exists of duo colors. You can use the colors separated or layer them on your nails. I Bought: 02 shopping trip in Soho

At the moment you can buy them in 6(actually 12)colours which you can see on the website

First the packing. This nail polish comes in cylinder shaped bottles connected with a middle part, the brushes. If find the packaging very useful. Because of the cylinder shape and also the right thickness it is very comfy to paint your nails.

Colors: I like the colors. The are very bright. And do all contain a glitterpolish in the bottle on the other side.

Price: not expensive. they are €2,79.

Review Essence nail colour 3: 02 shopping trip in Soho

In this photo, the pink nailpolish named: shopping trip in soho. This is a shimmering pink colour. I have to layers on my nails. It's a nice pink colour

In this photo I've putted the glitter polish named: party all noght long on top of the pink colour. This turns the colour into an dark colour of pink with a little sparked. Like a lovely Barbie Pink. Personally i think the sparkles could have made a little bit more present. But it still gives a nice effect.

I was curious about how it would look the other way around(first sparkle layer then the pink polish. Since I already painted my own nails, The next photo's are my moms nails.

This is the party all night long polish. Hope it is visible enough because of the flashlight. It is an semitransparent polish in a dark pink.

On top of the sparkle layer, I've putted the pink layer, shopping trip in Soho. It has quite the same effect as the first combination. but now you will get a shiny dark pink.

I think I will buy some more of this polishes since I do like them.

Nails Beauty night

Good looking nails are like your own business card. When I was young I did bite my nails. For that reason i started to use nailpolish. Something that turned out in an addiction to nailpolish. I have about 90+ bottles. I bought a new nail file. This one is a six in one. I also bought nail drops. This stuff helps to let the nails dry very quickly.

I take a lot of care about my nails. So here it is my nailpolish routine in pictures.

This is the file. Easy to use because of all the steps are written on the file. And you only hace to use on product to manicure your nails. It is from Essence and costs about € 2,00.

This are the quick dry drops. Also form Essnce and €1,99. Apply with the pipette on your painted nails.

For my nail routine I use the products in the picture. From left to right you see: the base coat(MAX from action, i tought it was 49 or 65 cents and is a good product), Catrice nailpolish, with a fab name: Marilyn and me, Quick dry top coat form Essence(it turned pink from my red nailpolishes), naildrops from Essence and the File from Essence.

The nailpolish Marilyn and me. It is a red with red sparkles(€ 2,49 by Catrice).

The result on my nails:

Some tips for your nails

- when you use a nailbuffer file, you can use the shine side when you want to. the surface file only once in some what of 3 weeks.
- for the length of the nails, file them with a fine file and in one direction
- Use nailpolish on clean nails.
- always use a base coat. as you can see from this article, they don't have to cost much to be good ;).
- use two layers of polish
- use a top coat to seal the polish

Testing the I love Berlin eyeliner

I one of my latest posts I just talked about the amazing jar of the eyeliner. Now it is time to try it.
I will do a short review of it.

The color of this glittering black eyeliner is called, 04 Berlin Story. I actually never use brush eyeliners because I always thought it was very hard. But I must say, with a little bit of practice I get better and better when I us it.

This is on the hand. To show the color. The line on my hand is thicker than the brush gives. I made it ticker just for the photo. As you can see the glittering in the eyeliner is almost not visible. But the eyeliner has subtle silver coloured sparkles in it.

On the eye itself the eyeliner does not smudge. When practicing, I found out, the less eyeliner you put on the brush the better it goes. With more it will run trough the eyelashes because it does not dries very quick.

This is how it looks on my eyes. It does not look very neat. It is only to show how it looks.

Because of this eyeliner was one from a limited edition line, you probably will not find it anymore. BUT Essence just brought out a new line of eyeliners named glam liner. this glam liners also have the little sparkles that the I love Berlin eyeliner has.

You can find them here Essence Glam liner

Eyeliner with a mark of history

When I was in the local drugstore lately, I found something amazing. Well in my eyes it is. But that can also be a part of my interest in history.

I thought I just bought an black glittering eyeliner. It is form the limited collection of make up brand essence, named: I love Berlin. Actually I already loved it already because of its name.

What Essence printed on the little jar, is probably something not many people will notice, I think. There's a band printed on the jar with little man. At this point you maybe think, why?

Take a look at the photo, maybe you will find out what's so special about the walking men.

Time for a bit of history about that little walking men. The little walking men with hats are Ampelmännchen. Say what?
Indeed, Ampelmännchen. They where representing the go an no go signs on the East German(DDR) traffic lights at crosswalks.

Even in the year 2011, if you are somewhere in the East part of Germany(DDR) or even better, In Berlin. You can still see by the kind of traffic lights at crosswalks in witch part you are, East or West. Unfortunately, they are not the original ones. They where removed after the unification of Germany. In 2007 they where placed back in Berlin as a part of the Ostalgie.

I think it's great that a make up brand printed this little details on the eyeliner jar.
