Sandpit Amsterdam central station

For  years now they are working on the renovation of the central station in Amsterdam.  The station square is now ready since half a year i think, the main hall has as far as my memory goes back a rubber-tiling floor because of all the renovation work. I no idea how the real floor looks. So that must be there for years now.

Now they are for quite a while busy creating a new passenger tunnel. That means this tunnel runs under the train platforms. Because of that, they also have removed some of the railroadtracks, and what you see when standing on the platform now is this:

what i really do like, is that you can see the layers of brick where the stations fundamentals are build from

Grinding the railroadtrack

I saw this  a couple of days a go when going home. I heard loud noises and saw iron sparks. Then it showed up riding away from the train station. It is a grinding train. It's used to grind the rail tracks so that trains can ride better on them. Here a short movie I've made of it.

sunset on an autumn day

While in traffic jam on the road and waiting at the shiplocks I had time to take some nice photo's of the environment and the sunset.
